Slab tongs lift steel slabs by clamping their sides, taking them flat or on edge. Hardened jaws and full-range adjustment let one tong cover a span of slab widths without being set up between lifts.

Every Slab Tong is built to order at our Pithampur works in India and exported to steel plants in 22+ countries across five continents. Because it is a below-the-hook device rather than a plant item, it normally travels as one fabricated piece — braced on a skid for flat rack or break bulk shipment, or split at bolted joints where the throat will not clear a container door.

Frequently Asked Questions

What slab sizes can your slab tongs handle?

Our slab tongs lift slabs from 10 to 45 ton, with slab widths of 150-760 mm and lengths of 600-3000 mm.

How does a slab tong grip the slab?

The tong grips the slab edges mechanically, with grip geometry designed for the flat, dense form of slabs rather than coils — which is why slab and coil tongs are not interchangeable.

Is the slab tong customised to my requirement?

Yes. Every machine we build is custom-engineered — capacity, dimensions, and configuration are matched to your line. Send your requirement via the enquiry form or call +91 91091 02280 for a firm quote. Equipment is manufactured to ASME B30.20, and test certificates are available on request.

Can you export the Slab Tong, and on what terms?

Yes — we have supplied buyers in 22+ countries across five continents, FOB Nhava Sheva or Mundra, or CIF your port. A device of this kind normally travels as one piece on a heat-treated skid, or split at bolted joints where the throat will not clear a container door.
